Great tips John.

The one thing I would expand upon relates to number 5 on your list.

Much like the importance of retaining an agent who understands the local market in question, I would submit to you the importance of retaining an agent who understands the real estate in question.

As you well know, not all Realtors are as familiar with Condos. Buyers should hire agents accordingly.

I also appreciate these tips John. And I think, that also real estate agent is as important as other points in your list. When I was buying my Toronto condo 5 years ago, my agent was one person who really solve all my requests.

excellent tips! over the years i've had buyers tell me they would never deal with the developer's representative again because they were promised a locker and other items but they were not written into the contract. the buyer was too trusting. buying a new condo is now very complex.

I really appreciate these useful tips! I think that all, except number 10 - which I think is a bit exaggerated, are true. I live in Canada and I am just considering buying a condo, so these came really handy. Buying a house or condo is a big investment and I think that doing a research of the market and hiring a real estate agent are crucial.
