Media Roundup - April 18th
The cooling housing market is dominating headlines this week:
Housing sales tumble across Canada
Shy lenders, and the oil patch, will help Canada fend off recession
Property tax battle begins anew
U.S. housing bust not so special: report
A little mortgage savvy gets some big savings
Trustees move ahead on school closings
Toronto: A City Becoming...er, Way Too Insular
We ignore Toronto's inner-city crisis at our peril

a more balanced market is very healthy. if the hot sellers market was to continue we would eventually see a correction, perhaps of some magnitude. this is a better alternative. as the prediction for rates is that they will continue to go down, it will stimulate the market. a flat market for a year would be a good thing, let everyone stablize. the fundamentals for canada are excellent long term.
