It's one of the risks, when you are dealing with big amounts of money. old times, when you could have trusted people (indeed, were there ever such times?) are gone and you have to be careful. That's business. And I think, check verification is not SO much difficult and if it spreads, banks will improve their services, so i hope there will be minimum of frauds.

True that. I usually avoid doing business, or even contacting, any firm which does not have a full contact address and phone number on site. Simple fact is that putting your contact details on the site fosters authenticity and trust.
