Hello
It amazez me that the conviction of Bill Batson, on phantom offers has not been printed in the city where the crime was commited, KINGSTON, on, why is this allowed to happen? Why has the whig or Kingston This Week not picked up the story, no one will ever know what a despicable act he has carried out, and who knows how many he has not got caught with, plse advise

Hi Don:

I agree that consumers are often the last to know what is going on - a deplorable situation, really. I am not sure as to why the Kingston papers did not cover this particular case. Lack of awareness?

While RECO does publish a list of convictions on its website (http://www.reco.on.ca), you often have to know what you are looking for. John discussed this readability issue in his post last week: http://www.movesmartly.com/2007/09/why-toronto-nee.html

To learn more about the Batson case from RECO, click on this link and search "2007" decisions: http://www.reco.on.ca/ComplaintEnf.aspx?section=DisciplineDecisions

Hope this is of some help. Thanks for reading!

Regards,
Urmi

The Toronto Star recently carried a story detailing the experience of the Kingston couple who pursued action against Batson:
