About Us

Move Smartly is part chronicle and part guide. As writers, we are fascinated by the big questions—urban planning, city politics, real estate industry developments and lifestyle trends, as well as the more immediate ones—getting onto (and up) the property ladder in Toronto.

Each of us writes from a different professional background, but we all write first and foremost as consumers and citizens.

We believe that all of our readers, when given the straight goods rather than jargon, can and should understand the economic, legal and lifestyle implications of HomeBuying decisions. We also wanted to look at real estate in a more balanced way rather than accepting the perennial boom or doom headlines of the mainstream media and industry watchers at face value.

We believe that Toronto’s charms are not exclusive to media mainstays Riverdale, High Park and the Beaches. Vibrant neighbourhoods cover our map of Toronto and the GTA; we cover the people and energy that make these places great.

Ultimately, Move Smartly is a discussion, and as such, the final word belongs to you, our reader. Thank you for visiting us and for being part of this dialogue.
